The Philippine Cooperative Center, together with its members and affiliates, celebrates National Women’s Month. Under Proclamation No. 227 s. 1988, Proclamation No. 224 s. 1988, and R.A. 6949 s. 1990, March is designated as a celebration in recognition of women throughout the country. This celebration is rooted in acknowledging the 8th of March as International Women’s Day.
The National Women’s Month celebration highlights the achievements of women nationwide. It also serves as a month to address the ongoing issues and concerns of women, especially in empowerment and gender equality.
For the 2024 National Women’s Month, the theme is “Lipunang Patas sa Bagong Pilipinas: Kakayanan ng Kababaihan, Patutunayan,” with the hashtag #WecanbeEquALL. The recurring general theme, aligned with the Philippine Development Plan from 2023-2028, is “WE for gender equality and an inclusive society.”
