SOCIAL ENTERPRISE ROADMAP COUNCIL CONFERENCE

The conference was convened to gather leaders from various sectors, including Cooperatives, NGOs, Academe, MSMEs, and Corporations, to discuss their current status and initiatives. The key highlights of their programs were reported, emphasizing the need to promote entrepreneurship and the role of social enterprise and cooperatives in creating a roadmap.

Mr. Fernando Zobel De Ayala of the Ayala Foundation delivered the welcome remarks and led a session on the involvement of Corporations and Philanthropies in the Social Enterprise Roadmap as a Shared Value Proposition. This highlighted the Ayala Group of Companies’ investments in communities, aiming to inspire other conglomerates to participate.

Quezon City was selected as the Pilot Social Laboratory Collaborator in the Social Enterprise Roadmap. Mayor Joy Belmonte expressed her support for the program’s objectives, emphasizing the engagement between social enterprises and the local government to advance the social and solidarity economy agenda.

Similarly, the BARMM was chosen as the Pilot Regional Social Laboratory Collaborator, aiming to create a roadmap for social enterprises in the autonomous region of Muslim Mindanao.

Other topics discussed included Knowledge Management, Education, and Training, emphasizing the importance of effective education in fostering the growth of social enterprises and mainstreaming them into educational curricula at all levels.

The plenary session addressed financing and the access of MSMEs to finance, with presentations from corporations and NGOs.

Finally, the First Community Cooperative, along with the Bayan Innovation Group, presented the impact assessment of cooperatives on their members and communities in terms of the SDGs and the principles of Cooperativism, demonstrating the positive impact of cooperative programs and services on the lives of their members and the communities they serve.

The TATAK SE Roadmap was formulated after a series of workshops on the last day of the conference.

Notable delegates included Dr. Gary Leonardo, CEO Cielo Garrido, COO Maricris D. Bautista from SDCC; Chair Elmo Bautista and CEO Egay Macayabas from FICCO; Panjun Margarico from WVAC and PCC Director; Executive Officer Shiela Fernandez from UMMC; and PCC Edwin A. Bustillos.
